Who are these Little Spirits?
About capturing childlike purity, before the world decides.
Sometimes something big starts with something very small.
A question, asked almost in passing:
“Could you also portray my child, in your style?”
I heard that question more and more often.
It was about capturing something that is fleeting.
Something we all once had, but are slowly losing.
This is how Little Spirits was born.
The spark
It started with one photo.
Not perfect, not directed.
A child in soft light, completely itself for a moment.
That look lingered.
Because it contained everything that makes children so characteristic: openness, imagination, open-mindedness.
A world that is not yet framed by expectations or rules.
As children grow older, that changes.
Layer by layer. Through school, through outside influences, through life itself.
But that inner light, their spirit, never completely disappears.
And that is exactly what I wanted to make visible.
Not as nostalgia, but as a reminder of who they are at this stage of their lives.
From photo to artwork

A Little Spirit always starts with a photo.
It doesn't have to be made especially for this portrait.
Parents often already have an image that feels exactly right: spontaneous, unforced, real.
I prefer to work with photos that:
-
are naturally lit
-
show the expression sharply and clearly
-
taken from one or more angles
Are you unsure? I'd be happy to discuss it with you.
I prefer to portray children between the ages of two and five.
That is the age when they are still open-minded.
Not concerned with how they look, but simply being there.
It is precisely that honesty that makes their expression so powerful.
I start from the photo, working layer by layer. The foundation begins with AI.
Not to copy, but to translate: their energy, their gaze, their own little world.
The size determines the direction
The works are not standard in size and that is a conscious choice.
No child is standard.
The customer chooses the size, and that is always my starting point.
Small and intimate, or large and supportive.
Because I work digitally, I can carefully build up any format without losing quality.
The size determines the composition, the tranquility, the space in the image.
Wings, my signature
Every Little Spirit portrait gets wings.
Not religious, but symbolic.
They represent freedom, imagination, lightness and are my recognizable signature within Colored Angels Art .
The wings lift the image just slightly away from reality.
As if the inner child becomes visible for a moment.
A color palette that lives on
Together we look at the color palette.
Not only what suits the child, but also the room in which the work will be hung.
Soft powders, warm earth tones, deep green, copper or midnight blue
Color supports the character and ensures that the work really becomes part of your home and space.
Why I'm making this
Every child carries their own light.
Sometimes exuberant, sometimes quiet and tranquil.
That light changes over the years, but it never fades. I see it in my own three children.
With Little Spirits I want to preserve a moment.
A reminder of who they are now, for later.
“Children are mirrors of who we once were
and Little Spirits is my way of never forgetting that.”
How does it work?
1. You choose the format
The size determines the direction of the work.
2. You provide a clear photo
New or existing, as long as the expression and lighting are good.
3. We determine the atmosphere and color together
Tailored to the child and living environment.
4. I build the artwork digitally
Layer by layer, with light, depth and wings as signature.
5. You choose the finish
Digital and/or printed on Fine Art paper or Canvas.
What to expect
-

-
with wings as a recognizable signature
