I've been quiet these past few months. Not because nothing happened, but precisely because so much happened. Besides my work as a home furnishings consultant at Meijer Colors@Home in Nuland , and my own business as a painter, illustrator, and wallpaper hanger , I've been building something new behind the scenes. Every free hour, evening after evening, and many liters of coffee. An adventure that sometimes kept me awake late into the night.
Building an online store isn't something you just do on the side. Everything had to be researched, tested, and developed. Luckily, I'd already taken a HBO course on back-end website building years ago, knowledge I could put to good use now. Still, it required new skills: I took a Pinterest course (very important as a search engine), a Midjourney training (AI), and a Social Media Marketing HBO course at the LOI. All in all, it sometimes felt like I was back in school. At 55, that's not always easy, but I still find it enjoyable and interesting.
And let's be honest: my social life was on the back burner for a while. Nights out gave way to screen time and strategy. But it didn't feel like work. It felt like building towards a fantastic goal. Because where there's a will, there's a way. That gives me tons of energy.
For me, art is more than just an image online. In a time that can feel harsh and uncertain, I believe that dreams, color, and imagination are essential. That's why I'm especially pleased that my cards were printed with such care and craftsmanship by the local printer: Drukkerij Kamoen from Grave . Their quality and precision ensured that the designs achieved exactly the look I envisioned.
The most unexpected part of this adventure? The photoshoot. For someone who prefers to stay behind her art, that was nerve-wracking. But strolling through the city center with photographer Angélica Vis from 's-Hertogenbosch , past retro cafés, vistas, St. John's Cathedral, and old facades, made it special. It's precisely that contrast between the lived-in past and the present that resonates with me and fits Colored Angels Art. Angelica captured this flawlessly, with images that bring my work and my story together.
And now the time has almost come: my webshop will go live at the beginning of October.
Colored Angels Art will have a home where angels, fairytale artwork, and cards come together. Prints and stories that all have one goal: to add a touch of color and hope to this sometimes harsh world.
Also new to my collection are my Quote Prints in A4, A3, and A2 sizes. Short, powerful words that are a work of art in themselves. A sentence that moves, inspires, or expresses precisely what you sometimes can't put into words. Perfect for your wall or as a gift, a piece of comfort or strength, captured in image and language.
And there's more to come. Besides the digital pieces and prints, I'll also be adding my original work in the future. Unique paintings and illustrations, one of a kind, where my love of detail, color, and imagination is even more intensely palpable. For those seeking something special that can't be repeated.
I hope you'll take a look when the webshop opens. Perhaps you'll be touched by an image, a grand piano, or a quote. And who knows, it might bring exactly what I intended: a little piece of magic, right in the middle of everyday reality.
This is just the beginning. New collections and stories are already brewing, but first, I'm pausing to appreciate this moment. Because sometimes, pausing and enjoying what's already here is just as important as moving forward.
I'm grateful to be able to share this now and hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter what happens...giving up isn't an option, one way or another, there's always a way :-)

Prachtig!
